The Monotony app offers a solution by providing brief, workplace-friendly breaks with enjoyable and fast activities. These activities are designed to be performed anywhere, requiring no equipment, to promote movement during periods of work.

To begin utilizing the app effectively, simply start it when you are preparing to sit, specify the duration of time you anticipate being desk-bound, and the app will automatically generate a schedule of activities within that timeframe. You have the flexibility to adjust the activity intervals and customize settings directly within the app.

According to CNN, "Yes, sitting too long can kill you, even if you exercise." Admiral Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, highlights that physical activity involves incorporating movement throughout the day as part of a holistic approach to healthy living.

<li>Receive suggestions for mini-activities like "Mini Walk" or "Climb Stairs" when it's time for a break.</li>
<li>Choose to follow the suggested activity or swipe to select an alternative option.</li>
<li>Utilize countdown timers during activities to adhere to their designated duration.</li>
<li>"Like" preferred activities to prioritize them; the app will select these activities more frequently.</li>
<li>Schedule breaks at intervals of 60, 45, 30, or 15 minutes; adjust this frequency in the Settings menu.</li>
<li>Enable notifications on your phone for timely alerts when an activity is due (requires Notification permission).</li>
<li>Customize notification sounds and settings according to your preferences.</li>
<li>Review a summary of your adherence to planned activities compared to public choices.</li>
<li>The app currently supports 10 activities, with additional "expert" activities slated for future updates.</li>
